SOLD Superb association piece, the iconic poster included in Lennon's album, Imagine, 22" x 31" bearing a portrait of Lennon at the piano recording. Signed and inscribed by John Lennon along the side of the piano to comedian, writer and social activist Dick Gregory: "To Dick & Lill and all the Gregories! Love From John" and additionally signed by YOKO ONO ("& Yoko"). Below the inscription, Lennon has added his signature face drawings of himself and Ono. Gregory was a longtime friend of Lennon who credited himself as a backing vocalist on Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance". Gregory was an avid vegetarian, and Lennon, wishing to get off opiates and alcohol, asked Gregory to devise a special diet for the purpose. He remarked, "When John called me, he told me to come to Holland, where he was 'living in a cave'. To me, a cave was a dark place where bats hang out. His cave looked like Buckingham Palace". The poster bears four very small punch holes above and to the right of the inscription (which could be filled) and the expected folds, but is in otherwise fine condition. The poster is accompanied by the original album together with a Letter of Authenticity from noted Beatles authenticator Frank Caiazzo. Nicely framed.
